Our advance
publicity for the show included an invitation to the public to bring problem
plants for diagnosis or identification. Such a plant was this Oreocereus
celsianus which was quite dead. During the consultation we found out that
the lady called the plant 'bad hair-day' but this seems to be absent from the
CITES checklist. I should say it was a very bad hair-day for the plant
but naturally we sent the lady away with another cactus.
