Scene at the marquee In fact several scenes!

The
sales tent did a roaring trade and there was something for everyone. We
all wanted to take a souvenir of the National home. Below are smiling
nurserymen (a rare sight) John Henshaw and Tim Wilson.

Above: I heard someone say 'I only buy them in flower'. Northants News is running a special feature on Schick hybrids in the next issue. Watch this space! |
| Above: Red blotchy Gymnos just £8 and extra dotty Astrophytums £10. Prices were in Euros ready for the future. | |

Above: Something for everyone and there were two Epiphyllum nurseries. At Paul Shirly's you could buy cuttings with the name written on the leaves which saves you losing the label. (Yes, I know they aren't leaves but then they aren't cacti. Or if they are were, where were they on the National Show bench?) |
| The near end of the Southfield's sales area looked like one of their displays. For a few quid extra you could save a few years in growing that National winner. |
