Our youngest member

Elanor, NMK's youngest member, is telling us about this 'man-on-a-sofa plant'. Naturally in Northants country you can call a plant what you like whether botanically valid or not. 

Naturally, being young, Elanor has a revolutionary idea of taxonomy. You wait until she starts on dad's Mammillarias.

 

The plant certainly provoked a lot of interest. One of our reporters heard an onlooker proclaim it the ugliest she had ever seen. I suppose that is in the eye of the beholder, I can't see how a 'man on-a-sofa plant' can be ugly. The judges liked it a bit and gave it a third. Anyway, I think I'll rewrite some labels now.
